Question # 1 What is the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s
Clubs Inc. (NANBPWC), and what is its purpose?
Answer # 1 NANBPWC is a national organization whose mission is to promote and protect
the interest of African American business and professional women; to serve as
advisors for young people seeking to enter business and the professions; to
improve the quality of life in our local and global communities, and to foster
good fellowship.
Question #2 Who can join?
Answer # 2 Membership is open to women, men and students. Adults who are working or
are retired business or professional women may join the Adult Club. Applicants
who own their own businesses, or who are licensed or certified in a business or
profession or who are college graduates with an associate or bachelor’s degree
or above are eligible. Youngsters age twelve or above may join the Youth Club,
students enrolled in an accredited college, university or technical institution are
eligible to join the Beta Psi Club.
Women residing in cities without organized clubs may become Members at
Large. Those residing outside the US may become International Members and
women who support the organization on the National level are called Associate
Members.
Question #3 What is the local club called?
Answer # 3 The local club is called The Greensboro Club of the National Association of
Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Inc. The Greensboro Club is a
part of the Southeast District of the organization.
Question #4 When are applications for membership accepted?
Answer #4 Applications for membership in the Greensboro Club are accepted between
December 15th of a given year and January 15th of the following year.
Question # 5 How long does it take for the organization to process a membership application?
Question #5 The application process is approximately a month and half long.
Question # 6 Once a person is accepted for membership, when will she be inducted into the
organization as a member?
Answer # 6 The new member will be inducted at the organization’s annual Founder’s Day
Celebration which occurs in April of each year.
Question #7 What is the joining fee?
Answer #7 The NANBPWC joining fee is $106.00 which includes National, District and local
fees.
Question #8 What are the annual dues for the organization?
Answer # 8 After the first year, a member who is 62 or older must pay $117.00 a year. After
the first year, a member who is below the age of 62 must pay $145.00. Dues are
due July 1.
Question # 9 What will my annual dues be if I become a life member?
Answer # 9 In order to become a life member, an individual must pay a Life Membership fee
of $750.00. After being inducted as a life member, the Life Member’s annual
dues will be $84.00 for each subsequent year.
Question #10 Who should a person call in The Greensboro Club for further information about
membership?
Answer #10 Any interested persons should call the Third Vice President/Director of
Membership with additional questions. Application forms which may be obtain a
membership application from any member of the organization. The application
must be completed and mailed along with a resume, copy of the college degree,
license or certification to the Director of Membership by January 15th.
